DATA LEAD
We’re looking for a visionary Data Lead to join us at We Foundation. We are a Finland based, ambitious non-profit organisation on a mission to improve social inclusion of children, youth, and families. We work closely with cities, local communities, public sector entities, sports clubs and federations, as well as private funders to help them measure and grow their impact. We accomplish our mission through impact measurement, data and technology.

This is a completely new position, playing a pivotal role in strengthening the scaling of our unique data platform Melvio in the context of social inclusion, both in Finland and abroad. We are looking for someone who can lead the creation of an ambitious data vision, and is willing to get their hands dirty and deep in execution thereof.
What you’ll be up to:
Lead the creation and execution of We Foundation’s data vision and strategy
Manage the lifecycle of our data: machine learning and data science, together with our development team
Translate our data needs into a backlog of actionable, production-ready stories or projects, directly or via prototypes
Analyse our data sets, identify new ones and build models, using modern AI/ML technologies
Ensure our data quality and oversee data pipelines.
The person we're looking for has or is:
Interest in working for our foundation’s mission with people from different backgrounds and cultures
Visionary and experimental mind with a proven track record of getting ambitious stuff done quickly
Ability to challenge our current data strategy and execute changes, for example by introducing alternative data sources and new methods for data collection
You think like a developer, and choose and build solutions that are well-suited for translating into software
Experience in building and deploying AI/ML models
Experience in working directly with engineering teams
Skills and experience we value:
Eye for product development & design
Experience in R and Python
Expertise in mathematical modelling
Good communication skills: it’s part of your role to communicate our data vision internally and externally
