The role:

As the VoIP Engineer, you are involved in a complete end-to-end overhaul of the existing SIP/VoIP infrastructure, from initially understanding and stabilizing the current setup to designing and building a new and secure architecture using modern practices like Infrastructure as Code. The key goal is to execute a seamless migration and ensure continuous, reliable operation of the new system.

- Design and manage the company's core SIP/VoIP infrastructure, including operating the in-house SIP server and VoIP proxy hosted in AWS.
- Ensure high-quality and reliable voice communications
- Develop and maintain integrations with external partners
- Ensure system resilience by implementing strategies for high availability, backup and staging environments, and disaster recovery
- Establish and maintain comprehensive observability, including monitoring metrics, traces, and alerts. Conduct regular capacity and load testing to support current traffic levels (~50 calls/hour) and prepare for future growth.
- Maintain security and compliance standards for safety-critical applications.

You:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced VoIP Engineer who can quickly assess, stabilize, and de-risk our existing SIP/VoIP infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architecting highly available systems and a deep understanding of VoIP protocols, codecs, and testing methodologies to ensure a smooth transition and continuous operational excellence.

- Strong hands-on experience with core VoIP protocols and technologies
- Proven ability to independently design, deploy, and manage SIP infrastructure
- Experience with AWS-hosted VoIP solutions is seen as an advantage
- A production-first mindset is essential, with a commitment to automation, comprehensive testing, and thorough documentation.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Our ideal candidate would be located in metropolitan Helsinki, as the office is located in Espoo, Otaniemi. Being able to share time at the office is crucial, even if you are able to work in a hybrid environment. The work includes occasional travel to Salo, where the factory site is located.
