Embedded Software Developer
We at Talented are now looking for an Embedded Software Developer for our people protection customer TwigCom whose aim is protecting people through premium-quality personal alarms and safety services. Are you eager and ready to combine your technical expertise and willingness to develop yourself even further, into good use for a good cause? If you thrive in a purpose-driven role and are excited about pushing the boundaries of safety technology, we’d love to hear from you!
Greetings from your future manager:
“In this role, you get to build software that truly matters, software that can genuinely make a difference and even help save lives. What makes this work especially rewarding is that you can clearly see how your code turns into a real, functioning device used by customers in the field. The focus is on developing a combined platform that brings together our two (Twig & Navigil) solutions. This is not about starting from a blank slate - you get a solid foundation while still having plenty of room to create, improve, and innovate.” - Marko Nirhola, VP of Engineering
The role:
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will join a team of experienced engineers developing application software for Twig’s lone worker safety and telecare products. You will play an essential role in developing the software platform to meet the requirements of the future strategy. The role varies from lower level development tasks all the way to user interface and autonomous alerting logics, etc. This is a long-term role by nature, we’re not talking about a single project that ends and moves on, but about continuous platform development and real ownership for years to come.
- End-to-end embedded software development
- Firmware implementation for lone worker safety and telecare devices
- Development of remote monitoring and troubleshooting mechanisms in the firmware
- Assisting customer support with technical questions related to device software
- Development of quality assurance tools and procedures
You:
We are seeking a proactive Embedded Software Developer who can quickly take the ownership of his own area of development, while closely working with other colleagues and team members. The ideal candidate has a solid background within the field of embedded software development, but we can adjust the final role based on the candidate's own professionalism, skills and areas of interest.
- 5 years of firmware development experience (C)
- Experience in low power portable or wearable devices
- Ability to read electronics schematic and layout designs
- Experience in test automation for embedded systems
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Any experience with wireless, mobile, (GPS/navigation or) positioning systems is seen as an advantage
